Cayenne Pepper (variation of Capsicum Annuum)
Known to the first peoples of the tropical Americas for thousands of years, Cayenne Pepper is most widely documented for the treatment of stomach upsets, sore throats and coughs by aiding in the breaking up and movement of congested mucus; It also stimulates the digestive tract, increasing the flow of enzyme production and gastric juices, aiding the body’s ability to metabolise food.
This amazing pepper also provides excellent support to the circulatory system, as it increases the pulse of our lymphatic and digestive rhythms. A 2015 observational study published in The BJM found that regular consumption of chilli peppers aligned with reduced rates of death from respiratory disease, heart problems and cancer.
